Buildings Insurance

Buildings insurance will protect the structure of the house and its permanent fittings such as bathrooms and kitchens, you can protect against accidental damage to sinks and baths etc.

Buildings insurance is compulsory if you are a home owner as your mortgage lender will want to ensure if anything happens to the building it can be repaired.

Contents Insurance

Contents insurance will cover your personal belongings such as clothes, electrical items, jewellery and pretty much anything you own. you can extend the cover to items in your garden or garage such as bikes and machinery. It is also possible to protect equipment you use for work.

Exclusions

Most likely your insurer will impose exclusions these could be acts of war or terrorism and normal wear and tear, ensure you check your policy for specific exclusions.

Contents insurance is very much dependent on the value of your personal belongings.
